Hanukkah
Hanukkah, which is also known as the festival of lights, is a Jewish holiday that lasts for eight days. It reminds Jewish people of a miracle that occurred in a temple (מקדש) over two thousand years ago. The temple needed a light, but there was only enough oil to last for one night.
Miraculously (בדרך-נס), the oil lasted for eight nights, which gave the people enough time to find oil from somewhere else. Hanukkah is also called Chanukah.
