MY DOG (I KNOW THE TITLE ISN’T REALLY CREATIVE BUT THIS IS ABOUT MY DOG)

Hi, my name is Sheindi Reinitz and Im 15 years old. My mother’s family is from Buenos Aires, Argentina (we speak spanish), but my siblings and I were born in Tzfat, Israel. When I was 10 months, we, that means my mom, my aunt, my grandparents, my older brother, my older sister and I, moved to Rehovot. We all lived together until I was five, when my grandparents moved to a different house but we still are always together and they live close to us.
When I was about 8 years old, we adopted a dog. That’s what I want to tell you about.

One morning, I woke up hearing my mom and my brother searching louldy for something. They were looking for my mother’s laptop which she used to work with. They searched the whole house, but they couldn’t find it. While they searched, they discovered that more things were missing: money, jewelery, and even my brother’s school backpack. Then we realized that the back door of the house had been broken some days before, and we understood that somebody broke into our house during our sleep. The thiefs hadn’t been found even after we called the police. The door had been fixed, but we still were afraid that it might happen again. Thats when my mother started considering bringing a dog home, although she hadn’d told us about it then.

Several monthes later, my sister unfortunately broke her leg and had it casted. She was very upset because she couldn’t go anywher and she was really bored while we were at school.
A few days after my sister got her cast, my mom told my brother and me to go outside to greet my aunt, and that she had a surprise. We went outside, and we saw my aunt and my grandmother, so we assumes the surprise was that our grandmother came to visit us. Then I saw my aunt was holding something that from where I was standing looked lika a fluffy stuffed toy, a doll. But then it bliked. And then I blinked, surprised. I got closer, and I was amazed to discover it was a tiny little puppy! We’ve always dreamed of having a dog, so we were overjoyed to hear that my aunt’s friend has a dog who gave birth to 8 puppys, she was donating them, and that my mom and my aunt decided to take one home to us. My sister was still even more happy because she could play with him and won’t be bored. He barely moved at first, later we were told by his last owner that he wasn’t even one month old! But we had to find a name for him. Over a week we wondered how should we call him, and finally we got the answer. We discovered that he was very spoiled, always wantimg us to hold him and pet him. So we called him Mimo, which means in spanish a pamper or a cuddle. I assure you that with the passing years he hadn’t stopped being so spoiled. It just got worse 😉. He is very smart and obedient (when he wants to be, because he can really be very mischivieous sometimes), he understands almost everything we tell him. One day we realized that every time we start to sing Shalom Aleichem on friday nights, he goes to his little bed without being told to and won’t get out until the Seuda is over, as he knows that we don’t allow him to be near the table while we eat (because if we do he doesn’t stop jumping and asking for food from the table). We also taught him some tricks. He is always our baby (as I’m the youngest sibling) although he is almost 7 years old💕.
