The Diamond

Chapter 1

I want to tell you about my previous life and who I was.

The story happened 6 years ago I was 13 years old at the time.

It was a regular Tuesday after school, I was at home, watching T.V.. Suddenly, the T.V. turned off and all the lights too. I said to my Mom “Mom, are you late with the payments again?!”

“Do you want to pay my bills?!” My Mom said

If I was responsible for them – it would happen! trust me, I am going to change our situation”.

When I was on my way to exercise in the park, I looked down on the ground and saw  something shinny in the garden under my house. I looked closer and thought it was glass. I took the glass and examined it. I put it in my pocket and went to work out. The next evening I showed it to my mother and she said to take it to the jewelry shop. I didn’t ask why, but I told her I will take it there after school.

The next day, I went to school and when I finished I went to the jewelry shop. My luck was that the jewelry shop was near the school, so I could take it immediately when I finished.

I entered the shop and asked the jeweler what is the special glass that I found? He looked at the glass in a strange way. I didn’t understand why, and then looked at me and said – you can put it on my table  – I think it’s worth nothing, but I will give you 10 $ because I’m a good man.  I thought to myself: why is he giving me 10 dollars for a small piece of glass..?

Chapter 2

I was not sure that the jeweler was a good man , but I think if he will give me 10 dollars for a piece of glass – he might be..

So I gave him the glass and walked home. When I arrived, I said  to my Mom: Mom, it was only glass, but he gave me 10 dollars for it! My mom said – Oh that’s great!

But then I thought to myself,  if he gives me dollars for it  – It’s surly worth more.

I decided to claim back the glass and return the ten dollars.

When I arrived to the shop the jeweler said to me that he will not give me the glass for 10 dollars. So I offered him 15 dollars for the glass and he said: I will not return the glass for any offer you can give me.

I thought it was very strange. At this moment – I Understood! It maybe wroth a lot, I must get it in anyway I can.

O.k., almost in anyway..

Chapter 3

Now I want to go back a couple of days before the beginning of the story.

I forgot to say, but at 14:00 o’clock in the afternoon on the day I found the glass, I heard police sirens and when I went to the window I saw three policemen hiding behind a wall and then I heard a gunshot. One policeman stood and pointed his pistol and shot but I didn’t see where. After 2 or three seconds the policemen ran to the garden and I didn’t see them anymore.  I stood on the window for a few minutes and then I saw an ambulance coming to the street and paramedics with the policemen who took a man who wore a Diamond security company uniform.

Chapter 4

When the paramedics and the policemen took the injured man, I saw the he was hurt by a pistol and I understood that the policemen shot him, but I was not sure why.

this situation was very shocking to me, but I was even more shocked when I saw the exact same person on the evening news and it turned out he is a criminal that stole from the bank.

Now let’s come back to the day we are at – when I was sitting in my house and I was thinking what I could do in order to get back the glass, I saw my mom watching the news and in the news they said that the most valuable diamond in the world disappeared and a very superior employee in the diamond security disappeared with it, when they said it they showed a picture of the diamond and the employee – this is when I understood that the glass I found is the diamond the police are looking for and the employee is the criminal I saw.

“Anyone who knows the diamonds whereabouts should let us know and he will win a prize of ten million dollars” announced wealth Buckenbawer the diamonds owner.

I rushed to the shop, when I was on my way an inner voice  said I am going to shout at him to bring me back my diamond and if he wont do it – I will call the police…never mind will call the police right now! they will arrive when I arrive and will

stop him before he has a chance to run.

I Phoned the police and just when they answered I realized the sign on the closed door of the shop. the voice on the other side of the phone said: “police hello,….hello” then I closed the phone.

I saw that the posters were off and the sign on the door said:   “on vacation, I’ll be back in 5 days”

(many people are looking for this diamond: the diamond is worth more than 10 million dollars. how did the diamond get to the garden. Who is looking for it and what is the storyteller going to do with the diamond). He decided to steel the diamond. and investigate who it belongs too. this story happened 20 years ago. At the time, I didn’t know it, but the glass was not glass at all. It was the most expensive diamond in the world. This diamond belonged to the richest man in the United States.  I don’t know why the diamond was in the park or how it got there, but now we can go back to where we left off:

and tell you how the glass got to the garden

1- kid+mom poor

2- kid finds glass

3- kid understands glass is diamond

4- kid comes back to shop and realizes the shop is closed and the jeweler flew out of the country

5- kid goes to find the jeweler and does not succeed

6- kid tricks the jeweler into loosing the diamond to him

7- kid gets home and understands it is not the diamond

8 – people join the kid in his mission to find the real diamond 9 – kid finds the jeweler at last and comes home with it

10- kid and mom are happy they sell the diamond.
