THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER

1-The name of the book is “The prince and The pauper”.

2-Author- Mark Twain.

3- Genre– Adventure.

4-I chose to design the book cover at the meeting place of the prince and the pauper because thanks to this meeting there lives of the prince and the pauper changed.You can see the picture at the next page.

5-A summary of the plot–

The book takes place in London 1537.

One day two boys were born. One boy named Tom Canty  was poor. Tom’s dad didn’t work and he always beat him.

The second boy named Edward Tudor was rich and he was a prince.

Ten years later Tom and the prince saw each other in the entrance of the palace. They saw that they looked the same and they decided to change homes. Prince Edward went to Tom’s home and Tom went to Edward palace’s.

Tom tried to feel how it was like to be a prince and Edward tried to feel how it was like to be poor.

Edward promised that he will change things when he will come back to be a king  .At the end Tom and Edward became to be best friends.

6- Main  character–Tom Canty-he was a thin poor boy. His clothes were old and dirty and he had no shoes. He had a bad father (John Canty) mother, two sisters and a bad grandmother. They lived in one room near London Bridge on Cheap street. Tom’s father slept in a bed and the others slept on the floor. Tom and his two sisters had to work. They had to stand by the road for hours and beg for money. Tom was a good boy he was smart and  he learned from Father Andrew to speak Latin.

Secondary character-John Canty- is Tom’s father. He had no money because he didn’t work and he didn’t want to work. Some days when nobody gave Tom money his father hit him.  John Canty killed Father Andrew who was an old man and taught Tom Latin. John canty was a very strong and big man.

The character I liked the least is John Canty.

I didn’t like him because he hit his family  and he is a killer.

He is selfish and most of the time he is drunk.

He is a really bad father.

7-Book review: I really enjoyed reading the book and I recommend it. The story is interesting and there are a lot of adventures. There are soldiers and fights and there are good people and bad people.

If you like stories about adventures you should read the book.
