sequence of events: The novel begins in the North Yorkshire city of York where Crusoe was born in 1632. Against the wishes of his family he decides to go to sea, but on his first voyage his ship is caught in a storm off the coast of the English seaside town of Yarmouth. Next, Crusoe goes to London where he offers his services to a sea captain.

On the coast of North Africa, pirates invade the ship and sell Crusoe and other members of the crew as slaves to the nearby North African town of Salee. Crusoe eventually escapes the town along the African coast to Cape Verda where he meets a Portuguese sea captain who takes him to Brazil.

write aletter the main character: My opinion to the main character Robinson crusoe one of the best known characters in world literature, a fictional English seaman who is shipwrecked on an island for 28 years. The eponymous hero of Daniel Defoe’s novel Robinson Crusoe (1719–22), he is a self-reliant man who uses his practical intelligence and resourcefulness to survive on the uninhabited island.

Crusoe is steady and plodding in everything he does, and his perseverance ensures his survival through storms, enslavement, and a twenty-eight-year isolation on a desert island.

I like Robinson’s character, how strong he is, who is destroyed despite all circumstances.
