Padlet- Orel Radaye and Orel Radaye

Padlet is a digital tool that helps us work on writing skills. This tool is actually a digital sharing board in which every student can write his answer and share it with the entire class. As a teacher, you need to create an account and then you can create your own board for your class activity. There are all kinds of variations to Padlet, you can make a regular board, or a column board, or other option you choose. There is a link to every board assignment you create, and when you share it, everyone that has the link can add his idea, and thought to the board. There is an option to add to the board links, photos, and documents.

Padlet is an efficient tool and has a few pedagogical benefits. First of all, it allows the teacher to see every answer that the students wrote. He can see if the students understood the task and answered properly to the requested instructions. Second of all, this writing board helps the children to practice their writing skills, since they need to express in words what they want to say.

Also, Padlet has another option that allows every participant to comment on what other participants shared. By that, the teacher can comment on the student answers and correct them if that is necessary. Moreover, every student can comment on his friend’s answers, therefore we also gain the benefit of communication in addition to the benefit of practice in writing.

There is also a disadvantage to this tool. Since it is collaborating board, everyone can see what is written, and therefore the teacher cannot estimate the answers and write on the board commands or grades. We can overcome this obstacle by asking the students to write their names near their answers, and then the teacher could address every student and give them an estimation privately.
