Opening

Hey, today I would like to tell you about a book that I have recently read –  “The Hound Of The Baskervilles,” a detective book from the well-known book series of Sherlock Holmes that was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Cover

I created and chose this image to be the cover of the book.

I chose it because I think it represents very well the plot of the story.

The tree represents the Baskervilles family while the dogs represent the hounds.

Plot

The story begins when Dr. Mortimer tells Sherlock about the sudden death of his friend Sir Charles.

Afterward, he tells him a legend about a wild man called Hugo Baskerville who kidnapped a girl that he loved.

The girl died by hounds when she tried to escape.

That legend left a curse on the Baskervilles family.

Dr. Mortimer asked Sherlock to protect Sir Henry – the new owner of the Baskervilles Hall.

Later, they had a meeting with Sir Henry.
During the meeting, Henry told Sherlock about a Stolen boot and a strange warning letter that he got.

Sherlock decided to send Waston, Henry, and Dr. Mortimer to investigate Charles’ sudden death in the Baskervilles Hall, where they meet the Stapleton “siblings”, the Barrymore couple, Frankland, and his daughter Laura.

Characters

Sherlock – Sherlock, is a tall and skinny person that usually wears a hat. He is extremely clever and manages to solve mysterious cases very easily. What makes him so special is his ability to think outside the box.

Sir Henry – Sir Henry is also a quite tall and thin person. Henry usually wears suits, and he is described as a friendly person who connects with people easily.

The character I like the least in the story is Dr. Mortimer. I choose him because he has already known the legend and the situation of Charles – far before his tragic death.

I really expected him to try and save Charles like a good friend, so I was very disappointed when he didn’t manage to do so.

Recommendation

I recommend reading this excellent book.

The plot is very interesting, scary, and surprising.

The book makes you try and solve all the mysteries yourself. For me, reading some of its episodes was breathtaking.

to sum up, I enjoyed reading the book and I know you will enjoy it too.
