The Amish

The Amish live in all of the world but most of them live in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

They have farms and fields.

The Amish came from Europe (Germany and Switzerland).

They left Europe because they felt strangers among the European and they had been chased due to their belief.

The Amish have a simple way of life.

The Amish wear solider colores.

Women wear modest dresses with long sleeves and a full skirt. When they are singel they wear a black headdress and when they are merried they wear a white headdress.

Men and boys wear dark-colored suits. After they marry they grow beards.

They live in a farm and ride on horsses. they are a farmers, homemakers ,shop owners, barn builders…

They don’t have electrical appliances and they have special religious customs.

The Amish choose this way of life because they want to protect their simple life and their religion from the effects of the world.
