The Amish live in North America,
They’re live in 22 towns in USA and in Canada.
USA: Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, New York, Missouri, Michigan, and Wisconssin.
Canada: Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, New Brunswick.

The Amish choose this way of life because they want to pay more attention to their family, community, religion.
We imagine it like on Saturday, all the family sits around the table and everyone eats and talks to each other.
So the Amish do like this every day!
Sounds good 😉

The Amish origin is in Switzerland and Germany.
The Amish split in the 17th century from another religious group – the Mennonites.
In the late 17th and early 18th centuries, the Amish split from them and went after a Swiss farmer named Jacob Aman.
Today there are over 330,000 Amish in over 22 countries in the USA and Canada.
Good to know: In 1700 the first Amish came to USA.

Their clothing:
The men wear dark trousers with suspenders and solid-colored shirts, black socks and shoes, and black or straw broad-brimmed hats.
Men don’t grow a mustache and wait until after marriage to grow beard.
The women wear long dresses with long sleeves, aprons and bonners.
The hair is never cut;
concealed by a prayer covering. Single women wear black prayer coverings for church services.
The Amish women are not permitted to wear jewelry.

They travel by horses and buggies. They don’t use modern cars.
The Amish don’t use at all an electricity.
For example, instead of the lamps, they use candles and Gas headlights.
In addition, they have not internet, phones, computers, cameras…
they can’t contact with the outside world…!
we don’t think that we will can live with the Amish…
Intresting if they know about the Corona viros…?!
