Hila, Emily and Oren are walking in town. They see
a cute, brown puppy. It is sad and scared. Hila
picks up (מרימה) the puppy. It has no
collar (קולר).
The children ask a woman, some children
and an old man if they know who the
puppy belongs to ( -שייך ל).

Oren’s mom works in an animal clinic. She is a vet. The children take the puppy to her clinic.
She tells them that some pets have a microchip (שבב זעיר) in their necks with a special number on it.

The number helps you find out the name and phone number of the pet’s family.
The puppy doesn’t have a microchip, so Oren’s mom can’t help the children.
They still (עדיין) don’t know who the puppy belongs to.

Emily: I have an idea. Let’s make posters with a
picture of the puppy on them.
Oren: Great! We can hang (לתלות) them in
the mall and around town. We can hang
a poster in the park, too. There is a
“Lost (שהלכו לאיבוד) Pets” board.
There are lots of posters about lost animals.

Bill works every day. Every afternoon,
he comes home at five o’clock and Milly waits ( מחכה, ממתינה)
for him in the living room. Bill has a cup of tea and feeds Milly.
Then he reads the newspaper and writes some e-mails.
But today, Milly is not in the living room.
The window is open. Bill calls his friend Anne.

Bill: I can’t find Milly. I think she
ran away (ברחה).
Can you help me look for (לחפש) her?
Anne: Yes, I can. Don’t worry!
Bill and Anne go to the park. They see some children.
Bill: Excuse me, can you help us?
My puppy is lost.
Boy: Yes. I saw (ראיתי) a poster
about a puppy. It’s on the “Lost Pets”
board behind those trees.
Bill: Look at this photo, Anne. I think that’s
