The ability to work together as a team and create something as a group is collaboration.

In order to use collaboration as a tool in your classroom it is important to explain to the students about it.

At first you can create a task and show them an example of how to do it as a collaborative team. After that you can divide them into groups and let them experience it.

My personal experience with collaborative learning is great because throughout all of my studies any time I had to do a group project I took the leadership position and aided my group in creating together.

Collaborative learning is important not only in education but also in any work environment where people need to work together to produce something.
