The King And The Kingdom

Many years ago there was a king named Ronald II. Ronald was an evil and cruel king. Ronald used to send his knights to take money from the poor people of the kingdom. Ronald had a son named Roger. Roger was a kind man and he secretly helped the poor of the kingdom.

One day Roger went  to help some people who were hurt by his father. 

When he came to help one of the families he saw a beautiful girl, his age, and immediately it was clear to Roger that he fell in love.

When Roger came back home he thought: “How can I tell my father that I fell in love with a poor young woman?”.

On his  way to his room, he heard his father telling his mother that he arranged a match for Roger with a princess of a neighbouring kingdom. 

The next day Roger thought to himself what to do and how to solve his problem. Suddenly his father came into his room and told him that he should marry the princess from the neighboring kingdom. 

Roger was silent and did not know how to tell his father that he was already in love with a poor woman.

Roger decided to tell his father everything.

He went to his father’s room and told him: “Dad I need to tell you a few things”. 

His dad told him: “No problem, let’s sit down.”

Roger started telling everything. He told his father that he was helping poor people, and that there are many poor people in the land. He told him that once he helped a family and met their daughter and he fell in love with her, a poor woman his age. 

His father was shocked.

At first, his father did not accept the idea that the prince was in love with a poor woman.

Roger explained to him how everyone is equal and people are people. The father learned a lot from the son, and agreed to the match.

The prince and the beautiful poor woman lived happily ever after.
