Tips ‘How can the teacher integrate study skills about how to deal with the subject he teaches in the classroom’
- It wouldn’t take much time, as you can integrate study skills activities into the normal flow of your class.
- For example, organization is a basic study skill. Students need to know where their books and work are, so they can access what they need for a project, test or quiz. Give students the organizational tips and materials they need to keep their backpacks, desks and lockers organized.
- Time management is a huge struggle for teens (and the rest of us). Teach some strategies to help them learn how to avoid procrastination and arrange their time wisely.
- The work you do planning instruction should demonstrates good study techniques for your students .
- Organizing lessons and breaking complicated ideas into chunks that are easier to absorb.
- anytime a student learns, you have to help them bring in two kinds of prior knowledge: knowledge about the subject at hand (say, mathematics or history) and knowledge about how learning works.
- Figuring out assignments that invite students to process the content more deeply. show them that Giving Where and when a person studies is just as important as how a person studies.
- Always remind them that Students who receive good grades on their school work often have a specific area at home designated for studying. This area should be clear from distractions, well-lighted, yet comfortable. All materials needed to complete the study task should be within reach.
Conclusion
Study skills is very important for students. That is why If it is not taught to them as a subject it should be integrated to the subjects in hand . Each teacher should try to provide his students with techniques about how to deal with the subject that he/she is teaching .
