Aneza Gonja Boyajiu, better known as Mother Teresa, is an Indian Catholic nun and saint of Albanian descent. She is the founder of the Order of Missionaries of Charity, popular for its missionary and charitable work among the world’s poor. At the age of 18, Aneza Boyajiu left her family to become a missionary in the Order of the Sisters of Loreto. He studied English for a long time at the monastery in Ratfarnam, Ireland, then went to British India and began his internship in Darjeeling, Bengal. He took his first monastic vows in 1931, taking the name of Teresa of Lisio. Six years later, in 1937, he took a solemn vow.In 1948, Mother Teresa began her independent missionary work among the poor in Calcutta, where she founded a school. Two years later he received permission to establish a diocesan congregation, which became the basis of the Order of Missionaries of Charity. The organization initially had 13 members, and at the end of the 20th century included 4,000 nuns, supporting numerous orphanages, hospices and charities around the world. Initially, the order was active in Calcutta, after which it gained popularity and attracted followers and donations. He established hospices, orphanages and homes for lepers in many parts of India.In 1965, their first center outside the country was founded – in Venezuela. He has the Nobel Peace Prize. He founded the missionaries in 1950, who continue to care for vulnerable people in Asia, Africa, Latin America, North America, Europe and Australia. Canonized as a saint in 2015.
