During the whole year, there were many helpful lectures that I can benefit from them. One of these lectures is Rivka. Although her lesson is an online lesson, she made the lesson pleasurable. I truly enjoyed watching her lesson when she taught the king who was not tall enough story. She starts the lesson by teaching the difference between (tall, taller, tallest), and she gives many other examples. In addition to that, she gives them keywords that would help the pupils understand the story better. When she tells the story, she uses intonation that made the story interesting. Another lecture that I found super helpful is Rania. Rania is an amazing lecture who has many different splendid ideas for so many topics. She makes her lessons enjoyable, and I would love to be like her one day, an incredible teacher who makes every topic learnable in a fun way. She has her own website to help other teachers find ideas to make their lessons also entertaining not like the regular boring lessons.

First of all, practical training at school is completely different than what I heard from my lecturers and other students from different years. Teaching physically in this school could be so hard and could be so easy it depends on you as a future teacher. Practical training is very useful and necessary for a student who is planning to be a teacher. What I heard and what I saw were completely different from each other. I have heard from some students have that it is difficult to teach, but others told me otherwise I did not understand both of them because I did not teach, I’ve never talked before but when I went to the school and actually taught kids or pupils understood why it could be so hard and why it could be so easy. It could be so hard because it is the first time in this school as a teacher not as a student and felt completely different yet so special. I have gained a lot one of these that I have gained was pupils are smart and intelligent, and we do not need to spoon-feed them everything, so we do not have to speak everything using L1. We can use hand gestures, body language, and so many other things to let them understand. When I started preparing my Lesson plan, I found it extremely difficult, what should I do first, what should I do last, what activity is appropriate for this age, and do I have time to finish everything that I prepared. So many things and I was thinking about, and I did not know if I am on the right track or not, thanks to my pedagogy teacher who showed me the right track and gave me feedback for my reflection, ideas for my next lesson, and positive energy to keep me moving. Many times, I have had problems in school such as preparing a Lesson plan and I was so happy about it, yet they gave me a class that already had learned the material that I prepared, and at that point, I have learned how to improvise in the lesson and how to teach material that I did not prepare before. Planning the lesson is so useful no matter how proficient you are, you need a Lesson plan to guide you through the whole lesson. All I have mentioned before were not the only problems that I had in the school, I also taught via zoom because of the pandemic, it was a new experience that I have gained a lot from, yet a bit challenging. Overall, practical training in elementary school during a pandemic and war was an unforgettable experience that I will use in my future training.

There are many things that were not discussed this year by the lectures that I watched in pedagogy Lessons, and I would like to learn more in-depth next year. One of them is how to improve pupils speaking skills. I would like to learn how to make pupils speak without thinking of their mistakes because one of the issues that we face in our society is that the pupils are scared of speaking because they do not want anyone to laugh at them or to correct them. Speaking in English is one of the difficult skills students face. they can read, write, and listen in English, but they are afraid to speak. I would love to know efficient methods, ideas, and strategies that could help me break the pupils’ fear.

Pedagogy course this year, we have been through a lot of challenges, but we managed to keep moving and to be strong teachers with the help of our pedagogy guide Jennifer. She helped every one of us on an educational and personal level. I have gained a lot of new information and experiences during the discourse. I’ve learned how to plan a good lesson, to criticize my work and other’s work, to be an active listener even if the opposite side does not disagree with my opinion, to come up with different ideas to teach a certain topic to make it interesting, to be flexible because sometimes things do not go the way I planned, to be patient with any circumstance, and last but not least is what does not kill me makes me stronger.
