What are interjections?
Interjections are a part of speech intended to convey an intense emotion

What do interjections look like?
An interjection is a word (or small phrase) at the beginning of a sentence

How do we know it’s an interjection?
Interjections are usually set apart from the rest of the sentence by either a comma or an exclamation point, depending on the strength of the emotion

Activity
Students will create a short comic of a topic of their choice, including at least five boxes and at least three uses of an interjection, but the same interjection cannot be used more than twice within the comic
Students can do this by drawing, cutting and pasting paper, or digitally
