The Princess In the Mirror

Once upon a time in a distant kingdom, there was a lady preparing for a big competition in her hut in the woods. She had blue eyes and curly brown hair. Her name was Helen. Helen had some pets who lived with her in her hut: an owl named Twitter, a dog named Razz, and a donkey named Shrek. Helen knew the prince because her mother was a good friend of the prince’s mother although they both died from an accident that happened some years ago. When her mother died, Helen was left with almost nothing.

Sometimes, when her mother visited the king’s castle, she brought her daughter with her to play with the young prince so they knew each other. Helen looked at the rules of the competition that had to take place a week later. The winner of the competition would marry the handsome prince named Clemont. The king, Donald Mec, hosted the competition in the castle’s garden. The competition was a magic one, whoever did the best magic would win the competition.

Helen was too excited about it to fall asleep, so she decided to take a walk in the woods. Some time passed and suddenly the weather started to get colder and foggy, and then she saw an old woman. The old woman’s name was Agatha. She was secretly a witch. The old woman invited Helen to her hut. It was a small wooden hut with almost no furniture. A small mirror, a half-ruined sofa and some clothes. The old woman noticed that Helen was stressed and asked her what was wrong. Helen told her about the competition and that she didn’t think that she could win it with her level of magic.

The old woman had an idea. Agatha told Helen that her mirror is a special mirror. And if she uses her magic on the mirror, it will teleport her to a special magic school that will teach her how to use her magic better. But really Agatha was trying to steal Helen’s magic. When Helen used her magic on the mirror, it flashed with a red light and Helen’s magic suddenly stopped. Helen realized that the witch’s motives were bad and Helen had no magic left. She was shocked and the witch laughed. Agatha said that she wanted to trick her from the beginning so she could make herself younger and win the competition using the combination of her magic and Helen’s magic. Helen ran away to her house crying and didn’t know what to do.

Some minutes passed and Helen thought of a solution in which she would go to the prince’s castle and ask for help, but it was at midnight so she had to wait until tomorrow, so She went to bed. After Helen fell asleep, Razz, Twitter and Shrek went to the witch’s hut and had a plan to take the mirror and bring it to Helen. Shrek was too large to get inside so he was waiting for Twitter and Razz outside. They sneaked inside the hut and tried to take the mirror but they were too slow and the witch caught them and even Shrek the donkey who was waiting outside didn’t have time to react and got taken by the witch’s magic.

The next day, Helen woke up, and immediately realized that her pets were gone. She didn’t have any time to look for them, she needed to run to the prince’s castle as fast as she could and tell them about what happened, and so she did. Some gourds were outside the castle’s entrance, but they recognized Helen but they needed the king’s approval for her to get in. The king, who was surprisingly in a wheelchair, said he didn’t recognize her. With a hard effort to make him recognize her she started screaming. The prince went outside and asked his dad why the lady was screaming and looked at her face very closely. He recognized Helen immediately because he used to play with her when they were kids, and invited her inside.

The king told her that he didn’t recognize her because she was not only covered in dirt, but also, he thought she died in the same accident that both their mothers died in. He told her that if he knew she was alive, he would help her with money and give her a house. Helen told the prince about what happened. The prince was furious with what the witch had done. They both started to think of a plan.

The prince went with his gourds and his father to the witch’s hut, he knocked on the door 3 times and asked her to open the door. She asked, “Who is there?” she heard the person shouting – “it’s the prince, now please open the door”. Agatha quickly transformed herself into a beautiful young lady and opened the door for him. He asked her to come outside because he needed her to tell him everything that she knew about a witch named Agatha that lives in a hut in the woods. That was the cover story of course. Agatha, now a young lady, said that she heard of her once but didn’t know a lot about her. The prince said, “Tell me about what you know”. Agatha was tempted. She got outside and started to have a conversation with the prince.

While she was out of the hut, Helen broke Twitter and Razzes cages but didn’t see Shrek. She didn’t know how to break her magic out of the mirror and was in panic. The sentence: “To break the seal without a doubt you need to sing with all your heart” was carved on the mirror and Helen decided to do it. So, she started to sing and the sound she made was beautiful. Everyone heard her voice from outside. Clemont was sure he found his true love and thought to himself if he even should make a competition in the first place. The seal really was broken and Helen got her magic back.

 The witch transformed immediately back to her real form and the king planned on taking the witch with him to put her on sentence. Helen found Shrek tied to a tree near the witch’s hut, and they all planned on going back to the castle when suddenly, the king lost control of his wheelchair and started to roll down the small mountain. He hit the witch on his way down and fell with her to a large ravine and they both died. Everyone was shocked and the prince started to cry.

10 days passed and although they were still sad, the kingdom needed a new king, so the prince started his way as the new king. He even announced the date of his wedding. Everyone was invited for the weddings of Helen and Clemon, even Razz, Shrek and Twitter. A month later, the wedding started in the castle with a grand ball. Everyone was happy, and the kingdom finally had a new queen. Clemont and Helen were so excited to rule the kingdom together. And finally, they could live happily ever after
