The Amish history
The Amish have been in America for a long time.
The first ones came in the early 18th century to escape religious persecution
in Europe and to find a land to farm.
the sect arose from a late-17th century schism in the Anabaptist church by
“conform to the teaching of christ and his apostles” and “forsake the world”
in their daily lives.

where they live
Farming is the center of theur lives. Their population is growing due to the large famlies. They dont live by rhe modern ways, so they are looking for now land away from the modern cities to avoid modren ways. After setting in Ohio, they are now in 30 states. as well as Canda. Ohio has the lagest Amish population.

Amish families
For the Amish, the’ir familes is the most importent thing to them and they like to spend time with the’ir siblings and parents. Familes with seven to ten children are common
amung the Amish famlies.
Four out of five children want to because baptized and stays in church. Jobs, friendships, and business gives them a reason to stay.
In the Amish family the olders members are often more respected and importet. The Pennylvaina Amish generally dont
like to use social security and avoid using nursing homes.

style and dress
The style of their dress is the most showing thing of their faithandurity. The men wear dark colord suits, solidcolored shirts , basiclly they wear all black.The are som tnigs men wear after thier narriage, like mustaches only.
The women wear solid colored dresses, usulally with long sleeves and afull skirt, a cape and apron. Their is a bun on the back of their head.

language
They speak a diaect of German. The language, originlly known as pennsyluania dutch, the use of this lanuage brings the Amish people together and naturally limits interaciton with non-Amish, Amish children learn English at school and study high greman for worship services.
