 Plot (Sequence of events)

King Lear decided to take no further part in state affairs,He called his daughters so he could divide his lands and money according to their love for him.

cordelia was upset by the claims made by her sisters, which she knew were only intended to persuade the king to give them part of his country,so she only answered that she loved her father.

The king was shocked at these words from his favourite child, and refused to give her her own fortunes.As soon as Cordelia had married,her sisters began to show their true characters,and the old king began to find out the difference between promises and actions,and he didn’t get welcomed by his daughters.

Main idea:

Cordelia really loved her father almost as much as her sisters pretended to do, love is not in words, generally words is deceitful.

Your opinion:

I think that king Lear deserved what happened to him,cause he was unwise and unfair with his daughters he did not divide his fortunes equally, the old king persuaded by his daughters deceitful speech and forgot Cordelia’s love.

At the end he got this good treatment from Cordelia,that’s the love that Cordelia’s speech hided.
