After World War II, Kroc found employment as a milkshake mixer salesman for the foodservice, Kroc was impressed by Richard and Maurice McDonald, who had purchased eight of his Multi-Mixers.

Crook realized the potential of the small chain’s serving and menu method, and in 1955 acquired a franchise to open a branch of the chain’s Dads Plains in Illinois, and the exclusive franchise to operate the chain’s restaurants across the United States.

Kroc maintained the assembly line “Speedee Service System” for hamburger preparation that was introduced by the McDonald brothers in 1948. He standardized operations, ensuring every burger would taste the same in every restaurant. He set strict rules for franchisee.
