Hapshuta (הפשוטע)

Hapshuta:  A parodical-humoristic internet character, that created as a Facebook page in 2017. Hapshuta represent the Y generation in Israel, as an ever-single 22 year-old lady from Tel-Aviv. She is a student, who writes and express her opinion in a various subjects using text and memes that contain a relevant pop-culture references and mostly references from her juvenility (end of 90′ and beginning of the 2000). The creator of the character is Bar Elmaliyah Danzov, an Israeli student for English teaching, who was anonymous until March 2020. Hapshuta by Bar is his alter-ego, she is the single girl who dates a different guy every day, a lazy student, who doesn’t care what others think about her and says everything that’s on her mind. Bar is a gay guy, married, an excellent student, works as a ground-attendant who has a pretty “boring” life.

Main Achievements:

• As for today (May 2022), the number of followers on Facebook and Instagram is 600,000 people.
• 2019 – Cooperation with MTV Israel in creating the “100% Hapshuta Soundtrack” that included all the nostalgic music of the Y generation. the soundtrack broadcasted one time for the whole day.
• December 2020 – “Hapshuta’s Annual Awards” on Galgalaz (a popular radio station in Israel) – cooperation of Hapshuta page with a well-known commercial figure.
• April 2021 – Foundation of the Facebook group for the “Hapshuta” followers -“Hapshutaot” (Hebrew’s plural noun for “Hapshuta”). The group allows the tight followers to post content in the spirit of the page on their own.
• January 2022 – The most successful satiric night show in Israel “Eretz Nehederet” created a satirical monolog based on a post written by Bar on Hapshuta page. The show’s production shared the credit for Bar (Hapshuta).
• March 2022 – The main party event of Hapshuta in Tel Aviv, performing leading pop artists in Israel.

Hapshuta influences many people in Israel in a very creative way as she uses her self-humor and funny language that combines “gay-slang” and a young girly slang, to make people hear what she has to say. Another thing that makes her so successful is that she isn’t afraid to say out loud whatever she thinks (and many other people too), she uses her voice to share messages of acceptance and love.

One of the most noticeable signs for her success in getting to people, is the fact that a lot of celebrities and politicians tend to comment on her posts and share them. Everyone wants to be in Hapshuta party!
