The IP address or URL of certain routers from Netgear is displayed on a label located on the reverse of the gadget. If the default URLs and IP addresses do not work, make use of the Command Prompt to find the proper IP.
- Click Windows+X and select the Command Prompt to launch the program.
- Enter the command ipconfig within the Command Prompt and then press Enter to find out more details on the network.
- Find your router’s IP address within the Default Gateway section, then connect to Web interface. Web interface.
Type in the username as well as the Netgear router password in the User Name and Password fields. The default username for Netgear routers is admin and the default password is password or 1234.

If you don’t have the proper username or password to this router’s control panel then you have to reset the router by clicking it’s Restore Factory Settings button. In other words, you can select backup Settings in the Maintenance tab on the left side and select the erase button under the Revert Back to Factory default Settings section . This will reset your Netgear router.
Certain routers won’t require you to confirm your actions or reset them immediatelyby restoring all settings back to their defaults and completely removing all settings and customizations. If you’re being asked to confirm, simply select “OK” for confirmation.
The Power LED begins to blink, and the router is restarted after the reset has been completed. You will be able to access the router after the Power LED is solid green.
Many Netgear routers, like WGT624 (WNDR3300), WNR3500, N300, WPN824, and DGN2000 as well as N300, come with the Restore Factory Settings button that is recessed into the case located on the rear on the back of the gadget.
Use a paperclip to push on the Restore Factory Settings button and hold it for a minimum of seven seconds until the Power light turns to reset your router. Don’t put too much pressure on the Restore Factory Settings button to prevent damaging it, thus voiding the warranty on your router. The device is restarted after the reset has been completed.
Be aware it is that both the DGN2000 or DG834Gv5 routers do not have a Restore factory settings button. In order to reset these routers, hold down both the WPS, Wireless ON/OFF or WPS buttons for at least 6 minutes up to the point that the Power LED begins to blink.
There are instructions for resetting the model of your router from the user’s manual included with the router. Download the user’s manual on the Netgear Support website if you don’t have the manual in hard copy.
It is not necessary to reset your router to discover or alter the password for this wireless router. You can alter your Netgear password using the Web interface.
