Chapter 1 “The British Man”

I have never considered myself not likeable , well , at least until I met Mr. Judgy.

I want to tell you a story about how i changed someone’s mind. This story is about reputation , courage and the capability to give up your dignity to save someone else. My story takes place at the end of September , or actually a little earlier , I was sitting in my apartment when I booked a ticket to the ship that will finally take me to Yokohama , Japan , if you really want to know this is the place where work with my pearls. So the day finally came , I came on board , I was one of the first people on the ship , so i took the time to get my room ticket because I wanted to take a nap , so I stood next to the Ireception and I waited for them to call my name , “Mr. Kelada come to stand 5” she shouted , I told her that I want my room ticket so I can settle in , she was silent and I could easily notice that there is something that she wants to tell me , “Is there something on my face?” I asked , she said no sir , we need to inform you of something.

Chapter 2 “Someone Like Me”

“Well , what is it?” I asked, “We need to put you with someone else in the room” she said. “At least put me with someone I can manage with” I continued, and she said that she will try her best. A few hours later she called me again and told me that the thinks she found a pretty nice match for me. I was curious to know who it is , she said that it is a British man like me! I was thrilled to know that. When everyone finally hopped on the ship , I went looking for my roommate, the British man. I saw someone that looked British playing cards , I asked him if that is him , by his name , and he said “Yes that would be me , what do you need?” I explained that I’m his roommate, and then , the disappointment on his face made me think that maybe he isn’t as thrilled as me…

Chapter 3 “The Dinner”

I gave him a nice advice on his card game , but still , the judgy face , like he was actually pissed of me , for just trying to help him.
And then something happened, the thing that made Mr. Judgy change his mind about me.
We set at the table for dinner , with a lovely couple named Mr. and Mrs. Ramsy .

We we’re talking about pearls and about my job when I noticed Mrs. Ramsy’s pearl necklace, That was clearly real and made from the real pearls , the cultured pearls .

But I got into an agreement with Mr. Ramsy when he said that it is fake and that she bought it for a few dollars in New York when she stayed there for a year , I couldn’t get over it , how can someone tell me that I’m wrong , and specifically about my own job , how I make my living?

We made a bet , for a hundred dollar bill , who ever wins , I could see Mrs. Ramsy isn’t thrilled m but I couldn’t understand why , why would someone say something this valuable is fake ? When the moment arrived , when I hade to set it straight and claim my hundred dollars, I looked at Mrs. Ramsy and I couldn’t ignore the face she made , like she was hiding something. Of course I had my doubts, but who am I to reveal someone else’s secret, I mean , everyone has them and no one wants people to uncover them. So I lied and said that they are fake , I took my pocketbook out and handed Mr. Ramsy the money he didn’t deserve.

The next day we were at the room when an envelope slipped through the door .

My name was written all over it with bold letters.

Inside there was a hundred dollar bill , “So you lied?” Said Mr. Judgy , with a little smirk.

This was the moment I’ve realised maybe Mr. Judgy wasn’t so judgmental after all…
