What we learned in Greece
Mushrooms
There are 7,000 different type of mushroom species. We saw real mushrooms and there reproductions. Some are edible and others are not edible and toxic. We learned that even if mushrooms taste good (like nuts), those mushrooms can be deadly. The museum also has some of the most expensive mushrooms in the world costing about 4,000eur/kg.
Pertouli
There are only 73 people living there. Forestry is collaborating with Aristotle University in Thessaloniki to ensure that the deforestation species are developing a project to study the inpact of smoke on the forest, and the populations of animals, especially lynx and deer.
Spruce, birch, sequoia and pines have been planted for the purposes of the university, as pines fertilize the land beneath them and improve the quality of the soil.
DAM PLASTIRA LAKE
Electricity production. Thermoelectricity is burned in a coal or greener way dam. Running turbines, pressed by a propeller when the water runs down. This is and artificial lake, not natural.
