Parquet flooring is a flooring type where small slates are arranged in a repeated fashion. This type of parquetry is very common and still very much in use. It makes the house look very elegant. It is used in people’s homes and various hotels, restaurants, museums, etc. It adds to the overall aesthetic beauty and elegance of any place it is used in. The traditional parquet floors were placed one piece at a time. But since the modern parquet has come into the market, they are available in the form of wood slats that can be glued together and not have to be pieced one at a time. They are bonded to a backing material, and this kind of tile flooring is glued or stapled to the subfloor. The few common sizes in which these parquet floorings come are 9 by 9, 12 by 12, and 19 by 19 inches. Parquet tiles generally include paper, cloth, or plastic mesh backing. These meshes are stitched with a thin metal or plastic skeleton to the flooring. The hardwood top layer is of various kinds of hardwood species such as maple, walnut, and many other different species, but the most commonly used hardwood is the oak.
