This week I was honored to interview my Professor Mel Rosenberg about his life. He has been an inspiration to me in the Engineering field and it was such a pleasure to sit down with him to ask some questions.
Professor Rosenberg performed his Ph.D. research in the field of Petroleum Microbiology and is both inventor and co-inventor of several products that have earned patents. Professor Rosenberg manages his life as a musician and author of children’s books, and the combination of these makes him quite unique.
Professor Rosenberg has always encouraged his students to act outside the common engineering norms, as we know them and when he gave the suggestion for me to interview him my first feeling was fear. Life is about challenge and growth, so I was excited to overcome this fear.

Now that we have concluded the interview process, I can confidently say that it was one of the best “lab” experiences I have ever had. It is a testament to how going outside of your comfort zone can expand your skills.
🤓We can ask personal questions but be aware that some people are not comfortable answering personal question.
💥We should engage with the interviewee with both specific and general questions
&If we have an audience, make it clear if you would like for them to also participate. It can be fun and engaging for some audiences when they are curious and ask questions like my friends from the course have done.
