By experimenting with tactics, examining previous grids, and generally going all-in on Wordle, some Wordle lovers have become even more in love with the game. Others have started to go elsewhere in order to get the same thrill of fulfillment that comes from finishing the daily game.
At this moment, there are enough Wordle-like games available to please almost everyone—even those who aren’t big puzzle fans. Here are 36 of the web’s funniest and most inventive Wordle substitutes.
1. WordPlay
Similar to Wordle in that it asks for six guesses for a five-letter word, WordPlay also allows for unlimited play.
Dordle, Quordle, Octordle, and Sedecordle are the next four numbers.
Similar to Wordle, Dordle gives you seven chances to correctly guess two words with five letters. Each guess is shown in both boxes, thus getting closer to one word’s solution often requires adding letters that you are aware won’t aid in understanding the other.
The rules of Quordle, Octordle, and Sedecordle are the identical, except you have to guess four, eight, or 16 words in each case.
6 and 7.Hello Wordle and Speedle
Check out Hello Wordl if you’re sick of guessing five-letter words. You get to determine the word’s letter count, which ranges from four to eleven. (However, you are still only allowed six attempts to guess it correctly.)
The objective of Speedle, which is essentially the same game, is to arrive at the solution as quickly as possible. Depending on your level of interest, you may change a variety of different options in addition to the timer to make the game easier or tougher.
8. Redactle
You get a redacted Wikipedia page from Redactle Unlimited, which you progressively expose by speculating on the terms that are there. For instance, if you type “war,” all occurrences of the word will be seen. Once you correctly guess the page’s title, you win.
9. Waffle
You are presented with a grid of crisscrossing letters in the form of a waffle that is highlighted in green, yellow, or gray by Waffle. The letters must be rearranged in 15 moves or fewer to create three words that are horizontal and three words that are vertical.
10. Artle
The National Gallery of Art’s app Artle challenges you to identify the creator of a piece of art from the gallery’s holdings. You’ll see a different piece of art by the same artist for each incorrect response.
11. Globle and the Worldle
Worldle provides you six chances to correctly identify a nation after showing you its shape. You’ll learn the distance between your nation and the right one (as well as the route you’d need to take to get there) with each incorrect estimate.
Additionally, Globle asks you to estimate a nation, which it then displays on an interactive globe in a hue that reflects how near it is to the true nation. Light orange to dark red are the predominant colors; the closer you get, the more red the nation will be.
12. King of the Rings
In Lordle of the Rings, you have to predict one five-letter word out of six, exactly as in Wordle. These words, unlike Wordle, are all taken from the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien.
13. Taylordle
For Swifties, who get six chances to correctly identify a four- to eight-letter word that is way connected to Taylor Swift’s discography or career, The Holy Swift Podcast invented Taylordle.
14. Wordle BTS
Fans of BTS also have their own Wordle, which gives you six chances to correctly identify a five-letter term relating to the K-pop group.
15. Lewd and Swearing
Sweardle is a game where you have just four attempts to predict four-letter curse phrases. Lewdle is a tad more inclusive, allowing somewhat longer terms and including every foul word conceivable.
