Industrial Revolution

Amit’s part:
I would like to tell you about the article that is dealing with the subject – Industrial Revolution.
The name of the article that I chose is – Why was the Industrial Revolution British?

The article is dealing with the reason why the Industrial revolution took place in Britain and not anywhere else in Europe or Asia, the answer for this question is: textile’s production and textile products exportation, which were impact positively by the religion, culture and politics in Britain.

In addition, the article presents topics that the wool industry affected on them, for example:

First, the population growth:  East Britain was the center of the woolen cloth industry, and the textile’s products were exported through London, because of that a quarter of the jobs in London’s port were connected to the textile’s industry. As a result, the population of London exploded from 50,000 in 15 century to 500,000 in 17 century.

Second, the use of coal for energy: Development of the woolen cloth industry leaded to a shortage of wood fuel which was solved by starting using the coal for energy. Because of the need to use coal instead of wood, the building construction was changed. New fireplaces were invented and the coal trade began. Britain had the cheapest energy in the world. Energy was more expensive on the European continent because they steal used wood for fuel.

Third, the growth in the demand for labor: the growth of cities and production increased the demand for labor, with the result that British wages and living standards were the highest in the world.

On top of that, the growth of cities and the high wage pushed to new agriculture: strong demand for food (meat, butter, and cheese) led to the production of crops.

Math:

By how much percent the population changed Between the years 15 century – 17 century?

Yotam’s part:
I would like to tell you about the article that is dealing with the Industrial Revolution.

The name of the article is – Industrial Revolution definition: History, Pros and Cons.

This article is dealing with the effects on people’s life after the Industrial Revolution occurred in the UK, what are the good effects (the pros) and the bad effects too (the cons).

The pros of the Industrial Revolution are: First, workers earned higher wages. The Industrial Revolution created an increase in employment opportunities. wages at factories were higher than what individuals were making) as farmer which was the most popular kind of work at the time).
As factories became widespread, additional managers and employees were required to operate them, increasing the supply of jobs and overall wages.

Second, increased innovation also led to higher levels of motivation and education, resulting in several ground-breaking inventions still used today. These inventions include the sewing machine, X-ray, lightbulb, calculator, and anesthesia.

In addition, The Industrial Revolution changed how people worked, the technologies available to them, and often where they lived. It made life comfortable for many though living conditions for workers remained abhorrent, which eventually caused the rise of labor unions that led to improved working conditions and fair wages.
The cons of the Industrial Revolution are: First, as workers left their farms to work in factories for higher wages, it led to a shortage of food being produced. In addition, the sharp increase in the number of factories led to an increase in urban pollution (because factories were mostly in urban areas).

To sum up, The Industrial Revolution is a very important thing that happened in the world, but it also had some bad effects in the world.

MATH PROBLEMS (IDEAS)
