In the picture, there is a smiling face that says “Have a nice day”. The face is cheering someone as in the poem in the first stanza. Furthermore, the smiling face looks really optimistic about life, because of his huge smile and his yellow face like an emoji. The picture presents a good vibe day. The smiling face looks happy, moreover, it could look fake to some people. If it seems fake to you, you probably won’t have a nice day because of your bad-thinking mindset.

“One self-denying deed” – an act that makes us give up something for someone else. it’s like in the picture when the smiling face is cheering someone without even knowing who is he cheering. That makes the picture so beautiful. The first stanza is optimistic so does the smiling face picture. In addition, the first stanza talks about what makes a day well spent. A day when you do at least one good thing for others. For example, do a self-denying deed or say a kind word to someone.

The picture describes someone’s schedule. And if you look carefully at the picture, you can see a wasted day. A day when he woke up, he ate something and then just went to sleep. like someone who doesn’t care, like a lazy man without a workplace. But we don’t really know what is going on with this man so we won’t judge, it seems like something is going on with him. I think he is going throw a bad time or he is just lazy.

“Then count that day as worse than lost” – is when you do nothing to help someone and just do lazy things while the day is just wasting. You did even worse to yourself. it is like the second stanza. The second stanza talks about what makes a day seem wasted. Moreover, a day when you don’t do anything helpful for another person. For example, cheered no heart or helped no one.

random acts of kindness

In this picture we can see a woman who is volunteering to save lives during Hurricane Florence in James City, Virginia in September 2018. The woman is carrying a seven years old girl named Keiyana Cromartie, away from her house that was flooded by the hurricane. The woman, Amber Hersel, is a

“regular” woman that decided to help other people even if she had to put her life in danger in the process.

The picture connects to the poem by the quote “one self-denying deed”, which is an example for having a “day well spent”. In the picture the woman shows a remarkable example for acting selflessly, since she is helping others (in this case the young girl and her family) while sacrificing her time or even her life in order to do it. She can definitely say that her day was well-spent.

Boy attacks girl while others watch

In this picture we can see a boy (teenager) that is hurting another little boy in a bus, and no one is helping him. There are many children that are sitting in the bus behind them, they can all see the little boy suffering, but they don’t do anything. Some children seem to not care at all, some are interested to see what is happening, but no one stops what is happening there. It looks like the bigger kid is bullying the smaller boy, perhaps to take his football. It’s evident that the little boy is getting hurt.

The picture connects to the poem by the quote “No act most small that helped some soul and nothing cost”. The children that were sitting in the bus did not do anything, nothing small or big, to stop the bullying from happening right in front of them. They could have said something that would not cost them or hurt them and stop the small boy’s pain. But they decided to ignore it. So their day is worse than lost
