Count that day lost

The first picture we chose to talk about shows a young lady staring at the sunset in fulfillment as a result of the good deeds that she has made throughout that very same day. This meditative state of looking at the sunset helps her recall all of the thoughtful things she did throughout that day which in turn helps her acknowledge that day as a worthwhile day. It connects to the poem because the writer explains how it’s nice to take a moment to appreciate everything that has happened and what you have done at the end of the day.

The second picture we chose is regarding the part about the kind deeds and the happiness and joy you bring in people, the writer explains how if you use your time for kind helpful actions, you will have a genuinely fulfilling day. In the picture, we see a Volunteer who helps an old man, you can see that they make each other happy. The admirable things you do for others (even the smallest ones) make your day worthwhile and give you fulfillment and in addition, give them the power to do the same to others.

In the third picture, we chose we can see a man which is spending time on his phone.
We chose to say spend because after our deep inspection and speculation on what he is doing, we have come to the conclusion that he is using his phone to navigate through social media feeds and play video games.
In the literature piece that we read the writer speaks about what is considered for her a “lost” day. She says that a lost or wasted day is when you haven’t done good things for others and When you spend all your time on the phone playing games and watching other people do stuff you are not helping people or making them happy, thus you can say that this picture shows a person that isn’t doing any good deeds nor does he make people happy, a person that by the writers perspective can count his day as lost.

The last picture also revolves around the idea of a lost day for the writer in the poem. in the photo, two people sit next to each other and watch TV while eating junk food. the two people seem to be doing this action for a long time now, which leads us to the conclusion that they have been spending most of their day or even the entire day doing pretty much nothing. that means that they chose to spend their time in a way that makes them earn nothing, help no one, and to sum up, not take a fulfilling advantage of their day.
‘One self-denying deed, one word
That eased the heart of him who heard.’
the quote is the observation of the writer for a worthwhile day, we chose it because it connects to the pictures we have chosen the most – the quote talks about kindness towards people, and in all of the pictures and explanations, we wrote about the kind and thoughtful deeds – whether it has been done or it didn’t.
