Healthcare in Pakistan is desperately poor and inadequate. Only about one-fifth of the population has access to safe drinking water, and less than half have reasonable levels of sanitation. In addition, the country has one of the world’s highest rates of child malnutrition, with over half of all children under five years old malnourished. As a result, Pakistanis rely on healthcare supplements to maintain their health.
Pakistan’s healthcare system is unable to meet basic needs for most citizens, let alone provide complex treatments and medications necessary for many serious conditions. Rather than relying on expensive international aid, which often only provides supplemental services or makes little impact overall on the country’s healthcare infrastructure, Pakistan has turned to pharmaceuticals as a key part of its health care strategy.
The country is home to dozens of pharmaceutical companies, many of which produce affordable and quality health care supplements. These supplements are essential for treating a wide range of illnesses and injuries, from common colds to heart disease. Importantly, they are also critical for preventing more serious medical problems from developing in the first place.
Due to Pakistan’s high rates of poverty and malnutrition, healthcare supplements are often the only option available to families who cannot afford proper medical care.
