I chose to write my ebook about The Sound Of Music because this musical is very close to my heart.
When I was six years old I lived abroad away from my grandparents and it was very hard for me 🙁
Every day my grandma would call me and tell me about her favorite plays.
Sound Of Music is one of her favorite ,so it is also one of mine:)
The musical was written by Richard Rogers and is based on Maria Von Trapp’s memory book.
The play aired on Broadway in 1959 and won five tony awards!
The play was a big success. Only a few years later a movie was released.
Maria is a young and musical women, that is about to become a nun.
The story takes place in Salzburg, Austria.
One day, the monastery decides to send her to be a nanny for Captain Von Trapp’s seven children.
Georg von Trapp, a former officer in the Austrian Navy, is a strict and rich widower. Since his wife died, he refused to bring joy and music into the house. Trapp runs his house like it is one of his ships.
When Maria arrives at his house, at first the children bully her, but soon Maria manages to enter the children’s hearts and teaches them to sing, against the father’s wishes.
During this scene Maria teaches the children about music and they sing together in the beautiful view of the mountains in Austria.
Trapp’s fiancee understands that he is falling in love with maria and convinces her to return to the monastery.
After talking to the mother of the monastery, Maria decides to return to the captain’s house. The captain decides to leave his fiancee and marries Maria.
Meanwhile, The status of the Nazis is getting stronger in
Austria.The Nazis demand that Captain von Trapp join their ranks but Von Trapp, plans to escape before the Austrian borders are closed. They escape the night before the performance at the festival but are caught by the Nazis and taken back to the festival. After their performance at the festival, the captain runs away with Maria and his children and Just before the border closes, the family manages to escape, and they walk through the mountains towards Switzerland.
Before I finish I would like to add one of my favorite songs!!
I just love the way they are all singing together and working as a time to entertain the gustes.
I had a great time making this ebook! it reminded me of my grandma’s storys 🙂 !
