My name is not Ann

As the young princess was walking into the palace, she fainted. Her parents asked all the knights in the kingdom to search for their beloved daughter but it was all in vain because when the princess woke up, she realized that she was being held in an abandoned farm. She started screaming and calling for help but there was nobody around.

After a few hours, she fell asleep and woke up again when she heard the voice of an evil witch telling her to clean the farm. The strange thing was that she called her Ann although her name was Mary. Mary told the evil witch “I don’t think that my name is Ann and I don’t want to clean your dirty farm.” The witch got very angry and said, “If you don’t clean the farm, I will hunt you and when I find you, I will kill you.”

Mary was very scared, so she ran to the storage room, took all the stuff she needed for cleaning and started to clean the farm.

She worked for many hours and when she finished, the witch told her that she still had to clean the witch’s bedroom. Mary was very exhausted and told the evil witch that she was too tired to go on working and that she would clean her room the next day. The witch was very angry, took a glass bottle and threw it at Mary’s face. Mary ran to the storage room and started to cry. Suddenly, she felt that there was somebody else in the storage room.

When she turned on the light, she was shocked to see it was the baker’s son from the palace. She grabbed his shirt and started screaming at him, “how did you get here?”. He told her that after eating dinner, someone kidnapped him. Then Mary asked him, “Do you want to escape from the farm? If we make a plan together, we can succeed.”

The boy answered, “O.k. when the sun starts to rise, we will begin to plan our escape.”

The next day, they woke up very early and they started to plan their escape. A few hours later, the perfect plan was found. Their plan was to kidnap the evil witch and to bring her to the commander of the king’s guards and that they would know what to do with her. They quietly waled into the evil witch’s bedroom, covered her with a sack they had found in the warehouse and dragged her all the way to the palace. When the commander took off the sack from the woman’s head and removed her mask, he found out that the evil witch was actually Mary’s step mother, the queen.

The guards put her in prison and asked her, “Why did you kidnap Mary and the baker’s son?” She answered, “I planned a fancy dinner for everyone but what I really wanted was to kill the king and Mary. However, something went wrong. I managed to cause the king’s death but Mary didn’t die. She tried to run away so I kidnapped her and brought her to my family’s old farm.”

When she was asked why she had kidnapped the boy too, she said that he saw that I poisoned the king so I had no choice but to kidnap him too.” After hearing everything the witch had said, they decided to kill her and to make Mary the queen.
