Dear diary,
Yesterday, I found out that my dad isn’t who I thought he was. It turns out that it’s his fault that Larry and the twenty-one pilots are dead. I know this because of Larry’s letter. In the letter, Larry wrote that he couldn’t face the fact that my father and Ann’s father had caused the deaths of the twenty-one pilots. Therefore, he decided to go on a mission he knew he wouldn’t return from.
I feel so naive and stupid. All this time, I chose to believe that Steve was guilty because he was the one who made the deal for the cracked cylinder heads, but apparently, he just took orders from my dad. How could he do such a horrible thing and avoid his responsibility all these years?
I’m also furious with Ann. This whole time, she was hiding Larry’s letter and the truth about what really happened. I thought she was different, but unfortunately, she’s just like everyone else, lying to achieve her goals.
I can’t stay in this place anymore. I don’t trust anyone here, and as long as I’m here, I can’t stop thinking about the pilots and the terrible things my father has done. I must leave and start a new life far away from here to move on.
Chris Keller.
