  • Former President Shimon Peres was the oldest head of state in the world

 

  • David Leskov, a member of an elite unit in the Combat Engineering Corps, served in the IDF until the age of 85 – which made him the oldest soldier in the world

 

  • Basketball player Anat Dragor scored the highest number of points for a basketball player in a league game – 136 points. (as of 2006)

 

  • Israel is the largest per capita consumer of protein in the world (as of 2008)

 

  • The actress Hana Maron had the longest theater career that lasted 83 years.

 

  • The famous magician Hazi Din lasted in an ice cube for 64 hours.

 

  •  The State of Israel is the record holder in spending money on weapons in relation to the population.

 

  • In October 2014, the Guinness record was broken by 6 Israeli swimmers – Udi Aral, Oded Rahab, Luke Shetabon, Doron Amosi, Ben Anush and Uri Sela – who swam 380 km from the coast of Paphos in Cyprus to Israel. The swim was dedicated to the fight against sea pollution.

 

  • The oldest fighter pilot in the world as of 2007 is Uri Gil. On his last flight he was 60 and 72 days old.

 

  • Child star Tzipi Shavit broke the record for singing a short song – and performed a song in 58 seconds.

 

  • Goalkeeper Yitzhak Hayek was announced in April 2019 as the oldest soccer player of all time on the field, at the age of 74.

 

  • Yossi the elephant who was born and lives in a safari in Ramat Gan, is the largest elephant in the world and has the most offspring in the world.

 

  • Israel Critchell, born in Haifa in 1903, was the oldest man in the world until his death in 2017, at the age of 114.

 

  • Israeli strawberry wins Guinness record as world’s largest Organization confirms that 289-gram fruit grown at Ariel family plantation is the heaviest ever recorded

 

  • The biggest bowl of pasta in the world. Making a huge bowl of pasta of about 300 kg, which broke the current world record of 250 kg. The recipe was composed of approximately 170 packages of ‘Barilla’ pasta and 45 jars of ‘Barilla’ tomato sauce, donated by the Italian brand.
