In the original play “All My Sons” by Arthur Miller, Joe Keller, is exposed as a war profiteer who knowingly sold faulty airplane parts to the U.S. military, resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots during World War 2. In the ending, Keller commits suicide after realizing the extent of his wrongdoing.

However, in this alternate ending, Keller does not take his own life. Instead, he decides to turn himself in to the police and accept responsibility for his actions. He knows that he will face severe consequences for his crimes, but he believes that it is the only way to make up for the lives lost due to his greed.

Keller’s confession shocks his family and the community, but they eventually come to respect his decision to take responsibility for his actions. The play ends with Keller being taken away by the policemans and his fate uncertain but with a sense of closure and justice for the victims of his actions.

This ending highlights the importance of taking responsibility for your actions even when it is difficult and painful to do so. It also suggests that redemption and forgiveness are possible, even in the face making a big crime.
