stanza 1:

“If you sit down at set of sun

And count the acts that you have done,

And, counting, find

One self-denying deed, one word

That eased the heart of him who heard,

One glance most kind

That fell like sunshine where it went —

Then you may count that day well spent.”

In the picture we chose there is a smiley face with the sentence : “A smile is a big curve that sets everything straight ” below it . We chose this photo because we think that it presents happiness , the general idea of a smile and how it can benefit you. When a person is positive with good energy and smiles towards the world Consequently smiles back to him , opens new Opportunities him and people will want to be close to him and to his vibe .Smile is the key to success .

In our opinion this quote connects to the picture because in the quote the poet talks about how one look at someone without any special effort can make their feeling better or even their haul day , as in the picture there is a big smile with a huge meaning behind it (I explained before) , from all that we conclude it doesn’t cost money to make someone’s day .

In the picture we have chosen , you can see a child that fell off his skateboard , and a man in his work clothes helping him out and caring about him .We assume that the man in the picture stopped his work for a second just to check of everything is okay even though he doesn’t know him , therefore we conclude that the man wanted to do something caring without except something back ( what can a little child can give to an older man ? ), If you do good deeds , good things will come back to you like a boomerang .

In our opinion this quote connects to the picture because in the quote the poet says that one thing that you do or even a word you say can make someone who had a abominable day a little bit better then it was . In the picture you can see the kid had an awful moment and the man made it a little bit better .

stanza 2 :

But if, through all the livelong day,

You’ve cheered no heart, by yea or nay 

If, through it all

You’ve nothing done that you can trace

That brought the sunshine to one face

No act most small

That helped some soul and nothing cost 

Then count that day as worse than lost.

In the picture we have chosen , you can see a man sitting in a chair in front of a white wall . We assume that the man from the moment he woke sat in the chair all day due to a terrible feeling that drained him from everything so he just sat in a chair and thought about nothing . When a man sits all day and does nothing he doesn’t abetment anyone, not even himself.

“Through all the livelong day , You’ve cheered no heart by yea or nay ”

In our opinion this quote connects to the picture , because in the quote the poet says that all the day went by and you did nothing helpful and cheered no one , and in the picture we see the man just sit in a blank room , do nothing and help no one . When someones depressed he can’t cheer anyone even if he really wants to . 

In the picture we have chosen , you can see an elephant sitting on a bench and looking at the ocean when the sun goes down .We assume that the elephant sat and thought all day about his life and the things he wanted to do with it . Every living thing on the planet have a life and you can never know what someone is going through or in his mind . never judge someone without knowing what he has been through.

In our opinion this quote connects to the picture , because in the quote the poet says that all the day went by and you did nothing you can say it’s useful that made someone happy or even cheers him a bit . In the picture the elephant sits in front of the ocean and just stares and does nothing just like the poem says .
