Stanza 1
If you sit down at set of sun
And count the acts that you have done,
And, counting, find
One self-denying deed, one word
That eased the heart of him who heard,
One glance most kind
That fell like sunshine where it went —
Then you may count that day well spent.

In the picture we chose we can see a woman looking at herself in the mirror smiling. In our opinion this women is happy because she did something special on that day which made her feel satisfied. In addition, We believe that this women did a good thing to somebody else and it came back to her making her day better. Moreover we think that she came back home looked in the mirror and was proud of herself, proud because she changed something, she made a difference and it made an impact on her life. If we make somebody else day better, it would make our day even better.

In the picture we chose we can see a man helping a woman on a wheelchair holding an umbrella for her covering her from the rain. In our opinion this man saw the woman on the wheelchair getting wet from the rain and he felt sorry and heartbroken for her so he went and held his umbrella over her so she would be dry and warm without thinking about himself. We are sure that the deed he did for her paid forward. Furthermore what he did have been her light on a rainy day.
Quote 1: Stanza 1:
“One self-denying deed, one word
That eased the heart of him who heard”
The quote says that if you do something for someone else or say something positive to someone else, you may count the day as an excellent day.
This quote connects to the two pictures we chose because the picture we have chosen talked about people who did something well and helped other people or said something positive that made someone else feel better. Just like the poet says “One self-denying deed, one word, That eased the heart of him who heard”
Stanza 2
But if, through all the livelong day,
You’ve cheered no heart, by yea or nay —
If, through it all
You’ve nothing done that you can trace
That brought the sunshine to one face–
No act most small
That helped some soul and nothing cost —
Then count that day as worse than lost.

In this picture we can see Mufasa and Scar from the movie “The lion king”. The picture is from the famous scene when Scar kills Mufasa by letting him fall to his death. The wall Mufasa held was more trustworthy then his own brother. We believe that Mufasa was disappointed with Scar because he thought that in the end Scar would have helped him and didn’t just let him die. Moreover we think that Scar knew he did something wrong but it was too late to do anything about it, and that it did not help him in the end.

In this picture we can see a person that looks a bit sad walking on the bitch by himself holding a heart which looks like it’s bleeding.
We can assume that this boy is lonely and feels like his heart has been ripped out of his chest maybe because someone said something or just wasn’t there for him, nobody helped him make his day better, somebody might as well just count that day lost. The heart looks hurt and bleeding. We think it’s because somebody didn’t treat it well.
Quote 2: Stanza 2:
“No act most small
That helped some soul and nothing cost —
Then count that day as worse than lost.”
This quote says that if you didn’t even do something small that helped someone else your day was much worse than lost. you might as well don’t even count that day. This quote connects to the two pictures we chose because the pictures we have chosen talks about people who didnt help others or about someone that nobody helped him just like the poet says no one helped some soul. As we can clearly see from the picture both of their days were much worse than lost.
