This was the song of the swing era that Dad used to sing with me. The song was written around 1930 by Simon and Marks, the only song of theirs I know of to make it big time. On the other hand, how many songs are there that are still around and popular after 85 years?

Picnic time for teddy bears. My first record as a child (I’m guessing a 78 rpm). Dad never forgot. I never will!

Playmate, come out and play with me. Mom and Dad used to sing us this song as kids. We never had a rain barrel. But we did have a cellar door.

Humoresque by Antonin Dvořák was also a favorite but with the lyrics commonly sang by railroaders way back when.

Surrey with the fringe on top. Brother Dave said that Dad loved “Oklahoma” and that this was one of his favorites. Who am I to argue? It also happens to be one of mine.

Heart and Soul. Chopsticks was something we all loved.

Dad did.
