  1. What are the five main food groups for kids? What foods are in each food group?

  2. Did you eat from all five food groups at least once today? What food group did you eat the most of? What food group did you eat the least of?

  3. Why is it important to eat a variety of foods from all food groups?

  4. What do you put on your plate that is part of the MyPlate model? How can you make sure you’re eating a good diet in your everyday life?

  5. How does eating different foods from each food group help you grow, think, and have energy to play?

Choose a healthy recipe to prepare with your grown ups.

Prepare the recipe with your grown ups.

Take pictures of you and grown ups sharing and enjoying your healthy recipe (be sure to include pictures of your healthy food).

Or draw a picture of you and your family sharing and enjoying your healthy recipe (be sure to include a drawing of your healthy food).

Share your pictures and experience with the class.
