Frequently Confused Words by Kelly Grusz - Ourboox.com

To educators:

Geared towards 3rd Grade

As students continue to advance their independent reading and writing skills, frequently confused words may hinder readers and writers’ comprehension and production of texts. In this book, students will review the meanings of and spelling of frequently confused words, with hopes of clarifying what each form of each word means. Differentiating between various spellings and meanings of words that are pronounced the same will enhance reader’s understanding of written text, as well as their own production of writing.

Includes: Discussion questions, practice questions and a “Select the Correct Form” practice.

Learning Objectives:

After this lesson, students will be able to:

  • Recognize the different meaning(s) of words that are pronounced the same.

  • Spell and implement the proper form of the word they are trying to use.

  • Recognize that although words may be pronounced the same, that does not mean they are interchangeable.
