As students begin to get more accustomed to social studies and the country they live in, they start to learn about American landmarks, symbols and monuments. In this unit, students will be able to recognize the famous landmarks, know certain symbols, and point out important landmarks. Knowing the famous American attributes becomes more important every day.

A monument is a structure built to honor a person or event.
