I was invited to lecture at the ETAI International Conference 4-6 July 2016 in Ashkelon. I figured that I had better find out what ETAI is and share it with you.
ETAI is the English Teachers Association in Israel.
ETAI is associated with IATEFL (the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) based in the UK as well as TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) based in the USA. I should be associated with them too!

Dr. Andy Curtis, the 50th president of TESOL is giving a plenary talk there on “Engagement in the Age of Distraction”. I will try to stay focused.
Turns out that Dr. Curtis started out in biochemistry, and calls the switch to English teaching the best decision he ever made. Hmmm….
Another guest speaker is HUGH DELLAR. He is talking about lexical English. Lexical refers to the common usage of a word. Such as lexical. How would you commonly use it? I have no idea. I had better attend. Here is Hugh. He has such a lovely English accent.
And then there is Marjorie Rosenberg, who is talking about “Making Lessons Memorable”. I will make a mental note of that. And who knows? We might even be related!
She is from the University of Graz. Perhaps I heard of it once, but don’t recall when. Another good reason to attend her talk! In the meantime, here it is on Google maps in case you are ever in the vicinity.
Graz on the map .
