Mythology-Museum Trip

            On 22 April 2025, we went to Izmir Culture and Art Factory with our students involved in the Mythology project. Here we came together with the students of Fatma Ramazan Büküşoğlu Anatolian High School and Şehit Mustafa Yaman Anatolian İmam Hatip High School from our other project schools. This place, which was previously a Tekel Factory, is now a centre where very important works related to the history and culture of Izmir are exhibited.

    Izmir Culture and Arts Factory is a special place at the centre of the city’s art and cultural life. It is a meeting point where art and cultural events come together in harmony with the rich history and cosmopolitan structure of Izmir. The venue not only supports the development of art by providing local artists with the opportunity to exhibit their works, but also increases Izmir’s visibility on the global cultural scene by hosting national and international art events. It also encourages social awareness by organising educational programmes and workshops that introduce young people and children to art. Izmir Culture and Arts Factory is not only a building, but also the embodiment of the city’s energy full of creativity and inspiration, positioning Izmir as one of the cultural and artistic capitals of Turkey.

  Art and culture enrich the intellectual and emotional worlds of individuals and increase the power of societies to live and develop together. Art encourages creativity by enabling people to express themselves and strengthens their empathy skills. Culture, on the other hand, supports the formation of identity with the values and accumulations transferred from the past to the present, and reinforces the sense of belonging of individuals to the society. Environments where art and culture coexist enable the strengthening of universal values such as tolerance and solidarity by embracing different perspectives. These two fields are a powerful tool that directs not only individual development but also social change and progress.

    This trip, which we organised with the partners of the Mythology project in Izmir, was very useful for our students to gain awareness about culture and works of art.
