Jeff Pulver is doing it again. The Monage Conference will take place, for the very first time (I’m saying that because it’s a brand new concept and a brand new conference) in Boston, September 20-22nd, 2016.

The meeting is about the world of instant. Instant texting, messaging, sharing information of all types. In the now. I am thinking it is so fitting to be hosting the meeting in Boston. After all, Paul Revere could have used SMS or whatsapp to tell the local folk that the British were coming. He would have saved valuable time and horsepower.

The meeting is in the Boston public library. That is very telling. Libraries hold books. Tens of thousands of books. In a decade or two, most books will not be made out of paper any more. Will people still need libraries then?

The Ourboox platform enables me to make a book in two or three minutes. It’s not a matter of seconds. On the other hand, compared to the years it used to take to write a book, it is kind of now, isn’t it?
