Whether you have found the right person or are still looking, having bad breath is a serious impediment to getting married. Some 70% of women polled testified that they wouldn’t even date a guy with bad breath, let alone marry one. And most of the guys concurred that women with halitosis would not be on their dating list either. In other words, if you rank, you don’t rank. Oh, and that goes for body (underarm) odor, too.

You’re mouth is bound to get dry from nerves on that special day. Make sure to gargle with mouthwash the night before your wedding (or date). It’s probably more effective than gargling in the morning (though you can do that too).

3

Chew gum for a few minutes at a time during the day. Especially right before the ceremony.

4

Eat a wholesome, healthy breakfast the day of the wedding. It will cleanse your mouth and get you through the day.

5

Drink plenty of water, and stay away from alcohol till the ceremony is over, the nups are signed and it’s a done deal!

6

Floss your teeth the same day as the wedding. Oh, and every other day too. Doubling up the floss can be helpful if you have spaced between your teeth. Interdental brushes are really good, but don’t take the place of floss.

7

Don’t order pizza with garlic and onion the day of the wedding. Unless your spouse-to-be thinks it’s sexy (most don’t).

8

Ask your imminent spouse whether your breath smells really good. If not, repeat steps 1 to 8.

9

If your significant almost-other has bad breath, be sure to tell her/him. No one else will, and it can be embarrassing when all the guests greet you up close.

10

Plastic tongue cleaners really help (most bad breath is from the back of the tongue towards the throat), but you have to get in really far and gently scrape the mucus off your tongue. This tip is for the brave of heart (and tongue).
