The first thing to remember is that the best apple pie is made with green apples. For example, Granny Smith. They don’t break apart as much while baking.

One personal piece of advice: There is no such thing as too much cinnamon. Pumpkin pie spice is good too. Just keep adding it until you think you’ve added too much. Then add some more.

Don’t forget to add a nice sized dollop of sour cream to your apple pie filling to make the pie extra delicious.
