Groundhog Day Blizzard

Everyone waited for the snow to start falling. The news stations had been talking about it for a week and they predicted a 100% chance of accumulating snow. Every student and teacher were anxious about the nearly promised snow day coming up.

The snow waited until everyone was home for the night to start falling. It was slow at first, but it had really picked up by bedtime. Much to everyones relief there was the magic phone call cancelling school the next day.

The next day proved the weather man right. We were snowed in! The wind was howling and the snow was blowing. We could not leave if even when we tried.

The kids tried to go out and play in the snow but it was just too windy and cold. The snow blowing felt like little a hundred bees stinging your tender cheeks.

It was better to sit on the couch and watch from the window.

When it was all over we had three days off of school and it took nearly a week for road crews to get all the roads cleared. It was a relief to go back to school and work after being cooped up together for three days. It gave everyone something new to talk about for a few days!
