Gordon Goes Golfing

One day, Gordon was on the golf course when a problem arose.

Gordon had to go  up a big hill. Gordon has never made it up this hill before.

As Gordon was pondering how he could get up the hill, his friend Jerry landed next to him. “Hey Jerry.” Gordon said with a sigh. “What’s wrong?” asked Jerry. “I don’t know how to get up this hill.”

“We will find a way.” said Jerry. “My friend has gone up this hill before so I will go get him.” Jerry went to go get his friend. While Jerry was gone, Gordon kept trying to make it up the hill. He was getting close, but he couldn’t make it.

Jerry came back with his friend. “This is my friend, Robert.” “Hey Robert.” said Gordon. “Hey Gordon, so I hear you cannot make it up this hill.” said Robert. “It took me a while for me to make it up this hill too. But, ever since I learned this skill that I’m about to tell you, I’ve made it up every time.”

“What is this skill?” asked Gordon. “Well, it’s not really a skill, but anyways, you have to believe. Yes, it is very cliche but it works.” replied Robert. “Watch me.” Robert backed up a little bit, prepared himself, and went up the hill with no problem! Gordon and Jerry both stared in awe. “Now, you try.” Robert said.

“I’ll go first.” said Jerry. He backed up, prepared and went up the hill! “I did it!” Jerry said with excitement. “Gordon, now you try.” “Okay, I’ll try.” Gordon backed up, prepared, and started going up the hill but fell short. “It’s okay, Gordon. Try again.” said Robert.

Gordon backed up again, prepared, this time going as fast as he could and he made it up the hill! “I made it! I made it!” Gordon was filled with excitement. Every since that day, Gordon never had a problem getting up that hill.
