Watson was born in Paris to Jacqueline and Chris Watson, British lawyers. Lama Watson is a French grandmother.
She lived in Paris with her family until the age of five, and after her parents’ divorce, she moved with her mother and younger brother Alex to Oxford, England. From an early age, she wanted to be an actress, and for several years she studied singing, acting and dancing at the Oxford branch of the Stagecoach Theater Arts school.
Until the age of ten, she played in several school plays such as Arthur: The Early Years, The Happy Prince and The Alice Adventures in Wonderland.
Many noticed her great talent and she won a prize for acting in school plays at the age of seven, but until she reached the age of ten did not play professionally.
Emma Watson received most of her fame for her participation in the Harry Potter series, in which she played the character of Hermione Granger.
She was cast to the role at the age of nine, after playing in the past plays in her school. She starred in all eight Harry Potter movies, alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, and her work earned her many nominations and awards.
